Discovering Your Inner Garden
Foundations of Somatic Journeying
A 4 Week Series
What if I told you that you could hit the pause button on ordinary reality and step into a magical space connected to spirit and oneness? What if what you learned and experienced in this space was available to support you in your day to day reality? Would you be curious? Would you want to go there? Somatic Journeying is a modern adaptation of an ancient Shamanic practice of connecting with Spirit and helping allies to provide support and guidance for being in right relationship with the world around us.
Through the use of repetitive rhythmic sound, we are able to alter our state of consciousness and activate an imaginative or theta state. When we move into this state with intention, we can begin to get a better understanding of our own subconscious workings.
Having the support of a safe container to share our journeys helps support lasting change. Being witnessed and witnessing others’ journeys is as supportive to our own healing as the journey itself.

Sprout Emerging
A small one with fierce strength finds a far off space
to examine her own anxieties.
Madrone invites her to have fun
And Salamander comes
with messages to slow down.
She breathes and roots and stretches.
And breathes again and again, until she sees
The winking eye of the Ouroboros.
It reminds of death and rebirth
and points her to the direction
of her own creativity for answers.
She paints and she paints and she paints
until she forgets.
She forgets she needs to breathe,
forgets hunger, forgets she needs to pee
and she forgets to be anxious
sitting with the snake at her spine.
When the voices come to crowd her paintings
she gives them room but
continues to guide the brush.
The light dances with her daily
as she emerges from a deeply buried seed
and reaches tender new sprouts
towards the sun.
