Blending
An Invitation
I step over the edge into darkness
Dancing somewhere between
Collaboration and self-awareness.
I can taste it A floral sweetness
Of possibilities Across my tongue
And over my lips,
before it sours With what-if
how to and fear
Of being seen.
Familiar stains of being left out,
self-doubt and inadequacy
Begin to bleed into the colors
I am creating with
and mix up my mediums.
I blend the rough edges and remember
This art has two sides to its story
Two ways of being read
and in this knowing
I step heart first over the edge
into the Abyss
with this poem this prayer
to collaboration
On my lips.
